We are Mercy Nairobi

We are a community of missionaries who desire to see a gospel awakening in our city. We are prayerfully working towards planting Mercy Nairobi Church and setting up Mercy House, a transition shelter for homeless women and children in Nairobi. We are Christ-Centered, Bible-Beliving and Holy-Spirit led. We aspire to be a living, vibrant and exciting body of believers of the Lord Jesus Christ, confident and courageous in making disciples for the Glory of God and the good of all People. Following the Holy Spirit's leading, we aim to be a church as defined by the New Testament and a church that proclaims and lives the truth of the gospel.

Our Vision

To see a gospel awakening in Nairobi that is carried to the ends of the earth

Mission

We exist to make disciples for the glory of God and the good of all people

Values

We welcome our neighbors.

We grow together as a family of God

We go to all people with the gospel.

We point to the surpassing worth of following Jesus.

We welcome our neighbors.

Because Jesus pursued and welcomed us into his Kingdom in open arms and He prepared a table for us to sit with him as sons and daughters of God, we aspire to be welcoming. We go out of our way to care, listen, reach out, make room, invite and be hospitable for the sake of the gospel. Being welcoming breaks down walls and opens up an opportunity for discipleship.

We grow together as a family of God

Because Jesus has made us a household of God under his headship, we are committed to lovingly holding each other accountable, yielding to the leading of the holy spirit, and deepening our knowledge of scriptures together towards maturity in Christ. We aspire to love each other deeply, sacrificially, and authentically. We Intentionally disciple each other to present everyone as mature in Christ.

We go to all people with the gospel.

Because Jesus came for us, and commissioned us to go, we purposefully and strategically proclaim the gospel. We engage in regular rhythms of evangelism, train, fund, and champion church planting and missionary efforts. We share our treasures and time, and we are committed to advocating for the marginalized and oppressed. As disciples of Jesus, we proclaim and live out the implications of the gospel.

We point to the surpassing worth of following Jesus.

Because Jesus being fully man and fully God, lived a sinless life, suffered the curse of the cross, paid once for sin to bring whoever believes in him into a relationship with God, we make much of Him by treasuring, embracing, exalting, and proclaiming only Him. We do not point to ourselves, we point to Jesus so that people will follow him, treasure him and point others to him.
